Early on this time, was using bands and freezes and wiggling the shape.
(methinks this bodes not well for this puzzle on my machine.)

Am going to try a fresh client this evening, the folder size on my machine is 807 megs right now.
Screen shot of folder sizes inside foldit… do these look right?
Your binary folders seem large; maybe another mac user can compare theirs to yours. Your cmp-binary-[long number] folder is 232 MB; mine is 68 MB. Your cmp-binary-[zeros] folder is 129 MB; mine is 44 MB. Maybe mac programs are just bigger than windows programs, I have no idea. My cmp-database folder is 223 MB compared to your 238 MB, so not much difference there. On the other hand my puzzles folder is 1.4 GB and yours is 273 MB - this just means I have solutions from more old puzzles stored than you. One way a re-install reduces the foldit folder size is by getting rid of the puzzle history, which I would hate but some people don't mind.
Another thread 4 crash (actually have been 3 since last one…
This one has clean logs.
Definitely loading a new client because it's crashing on other scripts that never historically crash.
Almost to the point I can't do anything to this particular puzzle without a crash. (thus the fresh client)
I keep my old clients zipped up and available just in case… and move in any puzzles I think I'll need immediately, so it's not a problem. Thanks for the reply!
In the "fat lot of good that did me" category… first crack on the new client, crashed simply wiggling.
Clean logs again.
The monomers are again becoming a chore rather than a fun challenge on my machine.
(but I don't know when to give up… more the pity)
This was Thread 0
Actually, I think I was mutating at the time. Yup, just happened again.
Unplayable for me at present… at least without constant annoyance.
Is there something up with the game in general (symptom - the scoring issues?)
Oddly enough, IRC chat disconnected… which seems to be another "apparent symptom" frequently occurring when crashes like this happens. Don't have that quantified though.
Just a FYI note: I am testing working on a memory-minimized (no animating while working, show only stubs) and no use of Blueprint tool on 1325 to see what happens. (said I was stubborn, in so many words)
Well that was working nicely until a power line was damaged nearby and we had a temporary blackout. (sigh)… lost the puzzle and foldit had to be reinstalled after the power was restored. Test 2… same conditions…commences.
