Can't upload or share solutions from Devprev to Main client
using Win7

This is expected. The devprev client uses a new solution file format that can't be opened by previous clients. It's noted in the release notes.

Does this mean I have to give back the Veteran Debugger badge I got for this?

You can find the release notes in the Foldit data files directory, in the file cmp-resources-[current version]/release-notes.txt. I've updated the FAQ page with this information as well.
