Hi !
I have the same issue but the only difference is my OS. I'm using Windows Seven.
Another player reported this same problem in chat:
hc819400: why does foldit close itself whenever I try to play level 5-3 in the tutorial
Hi there,
While you haven't specified what version of Mac OSX you're using here, let's see if we can help out some. Just so you know, Foldit is not supported on versions of OSX older than 10.7. In November 2014 we made this change because changes to Rosetta require us to use more recent build tools on OSX. Unfortunately, these new tools do not support pre-10.7. Since you are using 10.6 or earlier, you may want to consider upgrading if you are using an older version of OSX. These versions are no longer supported by Apple themselves and aren't receiving security updates.
https://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/ may help you out!
10.7 is also noted in our download box on Foldit's home page, and we always encourage downloading a client directly from our site. As a quick side note, we do note that there are known issues with 10.7.5, and we strongly encourage using Mountain Lion and above (10.8+).
Hope that helps.
Hi,
I don't use Mac OSX, i'm using Windows Seven. Is it necessary to download a Windows client and where ?
I just downloaded and installed a new copy of main client, Windows 7. When I open intro puzzle 5-3 the client closes immediately with no error message. log.txt file attached.
If you're looking for the Windows client it is here: http://fold.it/portal/download/windows
Foldit close down without error message.
My log.txt file attached.
Thx,
it's ok for me.
I was thinking that the client was an other application but the client is the executable file.
Currently being looked into! Feel free to add more info and reports as needed.
