I had clicked on a segment of the puzzle, thinking I was selecting it, and when I moved the cursor it started pulling to protein apart. I moved the cursor back, and clicked to free it (sometimes when I click down and click up it doesn't get the click up), and was preparing to command-Z to undo the pull when it disappears.
