Bletchley Park Lv 1
The installer complains about this long named game dll missing.
The installer also complains about the MSVCL140.dll missing.
I cannot post a screenshot, although I have one ready for you.

Could not load library
'C:\Foldit\cmp-binary-101162b96922808967838f7472a1c016\game_library.dll': %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
@roarshock What OS are you running? It should not be trying to interpret this as a 32 bit application, since it is all 64 bit now.
@"Bletchley Park" You should be able to drag and drop images into the text area to attach them.
Similar issue with loading foldit on one of my desktops but can't drag and drop files. Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit.
Could not load library
'C:\Foldit2\cmp-binary-101162b96922808967838f7472a1c016\game_library.dll': The specified module could not be found.
I've had no problems on my Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit.
I have a similar problem to gmn, but just on one system, my Unraid server.
Everything is fine with Foldit on two normal Windows 10 systems, one Pro and one Home.
On a third system, where Windows is running as a VM under Unraid, Foldit gives the "game_library.dll not found" error.
Old Foldit continues to run just fine on the Unraid system, aside from the not being able to log in thing. Offline mode is good.
My Foldit install is on a network share, and I'm able to run it on one of the other Windows (non-VM) systems. But then I get the same error when I try it again on Unraid.
The old test installer, 08/17/2022, size 339,078,888 Foldit-win_x64.exe still works on the Unraid system. The Foldit it installs works at first, but then updates and gets "game_library.dll not found" on restart.
The updated test installer, downloaded 09/03, size 407,689,094, completes the installation, but immediately give the "game_library.dll not found" error on startup.
The current installer downloaded from the new fold.it gives the same error.
So I'm suspecting that some change made between roughly 8/17 and 09/03 affected something about how game_library.dll gets loaded. I thought it might be unique to the Unraid environment, but gmn's comment seems to indicate otherwise.
So far, no clues. I looked at the installer output, and don't see anything unusual. Also, the exact same installation runs fine on another system. The Windows Event Viewer doesn't show anything useful, at least in the top-level logs like Application. I don't see a log.txt or anything else of interest in the Foldit directory.
My Unraid system shows an uptime of 297 days, so it might be time for an update, but it seems more likely the root cause is in Windows.
Just for the sake of completeness, here's what the error looks like:

The new Foldit site doesn't support pasting an image from the clipboard. So I had to save that to a file, then drag the file here to this post. There's no option to browse for a file either, so drag-and-drop is the only method.
Foldit loaded fine on my laptop. Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit.
@gmn for fun, see if you can copy the non-working install from to the desktop to the laptop and see if it runs there
I did a Process Monitor trace on the failing system. It shows Foldit cheerfully reading game_library.dll. Then a lot of other things happen, and Foldit throws up the message about how game_library.dll could not be found.
