So I decided to tackle my NSA-backdoor OS addiction and switched to Ubuntu. It has been freshly installed, is up-to-date and runs with the latest freeglut packages and Gnome 3.8 (the latest).
But it crashes repeatedly after some hours and I don't know why. I guess I'll have to run BOINC and Rosetta for a while. Folding under these circumstances doesn't make much sense and isn't fun.
