Mac osx 10.6.8 startup issue

I have tried to start up the downloaded foldit game. I get the following error message: Error switching to working directory. I've never gotten this to work.

Any ideas?

The error I reported above occurred with unzipping application, Zipeg. I tried Stuffit Expander, and, bingo, the program was able to launch.
