Sometimes on rebuild and aligning sidechains are more unwanted than help full. My idea is to allow on non-mutable puzzles switch by user all aas to gly or ala. After aligning/wiggling/rebuilds are done we loading back proper set of aas (maybe roamer position too?).
It only make sense nearly on start of puzzle, because on high scored ones it will be impossible to get back same sidechains position.
I think this can speed up things a bit too :)
I think this is certainly worth a try although I am sure it will not work as we expect and the results will be unusual and varied. Maybe this is good from foldit's point of view as well.
In fact why not make the whole puzzle mutable to any aminoacids and see what the effect is, just so long as the original aminoacids are restored for final submission. This would make a great experiment.
This can now be done in "Selection Interface" mode, but not in "Original Interface" mode.
