I've noticed this too for the last several puzzles.
Same problem. This appears to be related to the feedback bug called "Refressing puzzle list does no longer work".
This would appear to be true Tom, the other notification did not register in my limited cranial capacity :)
No word on this yet? Manually checking to find out if new puzzles are released is a little annoying, especially when they're not released immediately after one expires.
We've passed this on to the team, but will give it another boost.
