17 seconds may not sound like very long, but if you do that several times in a row it adds up and seems too long to be healthy.

I get the impression it depends on the size of the solution file and the number of solution files saved locally and remote. Question: are you reading the entire file ? If so, why not just read a header part and some check code for that part ? It would likely speed up the process a lot. It is quite annoying. This was first reported for client V33-20240305-0cb8bb8189-win_x64-devprev (but likely was present before that).

After a server change today, refresh shared solutions is now reasonably quick. The same change also fixed a problem where a number of players couldn't see any shared solutions at all. Thanks to jflat06 for the fix.
