Puzzles 496 and 497 switched to gallery

These two puzzles can currently only be accessed as galleries.

they are non-scoring and there are also no public solutions in the gallery-don't see the point

No galleries for me but my score changes aren't displayed at the puzzles' pages.

Not only did they switch to gallery, they are also apparently closed !
I just tried to save a solo for group and got the popup that the puzzle is closed.

What is the story ?
