Random-seeming crashes

Foldit, I understand you guys are busy, but this is ridiculous. Someone has to be minding the servers and troubleshooting the game. You are at risk of losing some good players (and statistical data points, and puzzle results for your research) if the trend continues. Please think about this seriously.

Hi there!

I know it's pretty frustrating to crash a lot - have you been able to try things on the main client to keep your progress going? Please note the devprev client is a development preview, and as such prone to bugs and crashing frequently.

In the meantime, we really appreciate the constructive feedback with the crash logs - this helps us narrow things down much faster than we could otherwise (but of course is no guarantee it's immediately obvious of an answer/solution).

It seems to me that this and the GUI recipes problem are probably related. Has someone been renaming functions (or whatever they're called in the programming) lately? (I have done some scripting in another language and that's often what happens… then the program runs and doesn't recognize what it's supposed to do.. sometimes nothing happens and other times unintended strangeness or crashes occur.) Recipes that worked fine (LUA and GUI both) are currently acting somewhat weird or just downright crashing. Thanks for the note Inky

FYI UPDATE: Went back to main and opened the problematic puzzle. So far, none of the recipes I've worked have made it crash, so the issues experienced by me at least were isolated to Devprev. (not including the GUI recipes issue, which is apparently both.) Was able to limp to the finish line in devprev by avoiding iffy moves like shake or cut (<–joke).
