Scores not transferring reliably to the website

I have been running a long mutate script on puzzle #2196 with good results, but the last transfer of score to the website was 23 hours ago. There is a similar problem with puzzle #2197.
When I closed the puzzle #2197 client and reopened it, the increased score did transfer to the Foldit website.
The clients seem to be losing contact with the website. Can this be fixed?

I was seeing my rank as 3rd on puzzle #2197 and when I quit and restarted the client I was 9th.

This is an ongoing issue. Here is my log.txt file:

Can't seem to drag my log.txt file to this space. It is a 38.6 Mb file. Is size the issue?

Hm, yes that might be too big to attach here. At the very least, it will probably take a minute after drag-and-drop before it appears in your message (it has to fully upload the file first).

Either way, I think it would be worth restarting Foldit to see if the problem persists. If you are still having issues, you could try uploading log.txt again—it should be much smaller if you recently restarted Foldit.

The problem with scores seems similar to the "disconnected client" issue we've sometimes seen when there's a chat server issue. When there's a chat server outage, some clients seem to lose touch with the server, and they don't recover even after the server is back. This is true even for clients which aren't logged in to IRC.

We had somewhat long chat problem the weekend before the new system launched. Some clients were fine, some lost touch with the current scoreboards and that was that. I had multiple clients freeze up when they finished running recipes, which was new to me. Previously, some clients would hang when you tried to close them, which also happened this last time.

Anyway, since the chat server is not available to the new clients, maybe it's similar to previous outages. Not clear to me why a chat outage would affect the scoreboards. I'd assume (or at least hope) that the scoreboard would use web technology, but maybe IRC gets involved somehow.

One thing I've noticed is that the scores that are shown on the web page for a particular puzzle seem to reflect the current score of your client, not the max. I evolved Sandrix's share on 2197, and saw that my score was shown as 19010, then when I looked at it again a little bit later, it showed 18999. Might be a clue there ….
