Samething, tried everything. Can't download recipes join chat. Cleared cache, reinstalled, cant fix IRC through my profile.

Did you try another browser or join chat with firewall off?
Do other chat/download-programs work?

If you use Win7 64bit, it has some problems with LAN adapters on mainboard (maybe driver problem).
Then, internet works for regular, but not for special transmissions.

Does the internet-site say when you try to download, you have the client to be running, although it is already running?

I think I fixed the problem the prevented the recipes from being downloaded. Would you try downloading some recipes to test? Crashguard303, thanks for troubleshooting.
