As of November 1st, you will see in the listing of top soloists that the player at rank #9 is missing. Also, the listing of top evolvers shows rank #27 is missing.
It's likely these belong to the same person. Did someone delete their account? If so, why wouldn't everyone ranked below this person mover up one rank?
Was there a tie for rank #8 or rank #26?
No. The ranks are simply not there.
Soloist ranking goes from 1-8, then 10-14, with a tie for 15th.
Evolver ranking goes from 1-26, then 28-40, with a tie for 41st.

Meanwhile, soloist #16 is missing,
but 2 players are tied for soloist #15.
Also evolvers #34 and #42 are missing,
but 2 players are tied for evolver #33
and 2 players are tied for evolver #41.
These make more sense due to the ties.
All those cases you mentioned are the results of ties. Soloist #9 and Evolver #27 are simply omitted.
Bumping thread, lest this disappears into the void. We had this same issue back in April 2012, but no one posted how it was resolved.
And now… soloist scores have all been "0" for several days.
A consequence of trying to fix the rankings, I hope? (It's now soloist rank #15 and evolver rank #35 that are missing.) Or a new glitch?
