Can not log on to online game mode

Hello everyone,
I am new to this game and forum. I am trying to use the foldit client in the Online mode but I cannot seem to connect. When the client starts, I enter my username and password (which I have confirmed is correct as I can log into this site). I then click the "Play Online" button, after some time, I get this error:

"A timeout was reached due to excessive server load. Sorry for the inconvience, Please try again later."

I have tried checking the "Disable network timeouts" option but the same error occurs. I have also tried to use a proxy:

"proxy.local.myCompany.com/proxy.pac"

which is found in the proxy settings of my Internet explorer but get this error:

"Couldn't resolve proxy error: Error contacting server."

I have been trying to connect for the past two days with no success. I can play the offline mode but I have run through all the tutorials.

Any advice is much appreciated.

yeah, i already tried that. is it possible to download puzzles and contest and play offline?

You still need to be able to get connected to the server to download puzzles, and to upload solutions.

Are you behind some fierce firewall or on a company network?
