Display is really jerky and lagged

Yes, sound is working generally in my Ubuntu Linux (9.04) setup, just not in Foldit.

Have tried installing the package you recommended, but just tried Foldit, and there's still no sound.

And yes, I have rebooted after updating the kernel.

It's not a big problem; it's more just something a bit baffling/annoying. All the same, I appreciate your speedy attention, admin and Steven, to helping me out. That surprised me. :)

Hmm.. that is an odd one.

Stupid question, but sound is not turned off in foldit preferences is it ?

I really just don't know enough about Linux audio to be much use on this one, though if I come up with anything, I'll let you know.

Sounds is turned on in Foldit preferences, yes. I'm as baffled as you are, but as I say, it's not a big problem. Thank you for your help, though. Appreciated.
