Running: Unbuntu 11.10 64 bit
Error:
Foldit Error: The game has previously not started up correctly.
If this problem persists, please install the latest version.
Foldit Error: Could not load library: libglut.so.3: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64.
I've googled other threads where folks have/had this problem but the resolution was either vague or thread was closed.
I've attempted to update "freeglut-2.6.0" but fail on "make install" with the following:
In file included from freeglut_callbacks.c:29:0:
freeglut_internal.h:111:39: fatal error: X11/extensions/XInput.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance for your time and help.
The problem is that the program requires 32 bit version of the library file. So try to install freeglut3:i386 package. Worked for me :)
Have same problem on "The game has previously not started up correctly.
If this problem persists, please install the latest version." i dl the "freeglut3_2.6.0-1ubuntu2_i386.deb". anyone can help? maybe to much to ask, but step by step will be nice too.
is a 32 bit program, it NEED 32bit libraries to work on 32 system.
It is explained on forum and feedback many times, search it.
I'm thinking that maybe there should be a sticky for this, Rav3n. I come on here every now and then because I've had this problem with Foldit for about a month now, and I always see you repeating that same message. Anyway, I can't seem to figure out how to install freeglut. I've found it, but it doesn't seem to install like a regular program, and I can't figure it out. What happens is that I get it downloaded, but windows can't read or recognize the install file that it has. Is there an alternate solution to this problem?
Rav3n_pl, if you want to post a new thread about this, I can make it sticky for you (so you don't have to repeat yourself over and over again! But again, thanks for doing so!)
there is no such problem.
I have w7 64bit and any trouble.
Only thing is to install in another than "program files" directory to avoid administrative privileges trouble.
Freeglut, that is? Or Foldit? Because as far as freeglut goes, I've got W7/64-bit too, but I can't figure out what version to use or how to get the darn thing to install once I've got it. Are you using the Natty version?
There is no need to install any "feeglut" on Windows!
hopefully that will clear it up!
