Hi everyone,

My name is Joe, and I was hoping you guys could help me track some foldit players down. I produce for documentarian Lucy Walker. She's an established director and has been nominated for an Oscar the last two years in a row. She just started work on a short documentary about the foldit gamers' AIDS research breakthrough, which the Contenders, among others, were involved in.

I'm looking for players that participated in the CASP (Critical Assessment of Techniques for Protein Structure Prediction) contest who might be interested in talking to Ms. Walker some time in the next month or so. We would talk about the progress the foldit gamers made in identifying M-PMV's structure, how the foldit community works, and how online gaming helps advance not only science but also social interaction. The film is only going to be about three minutes long and you probably wouldn't even have to speak on camera. Rather, we are collecting audio interviews or even chat room / email transcripts and using computer animation for the bulk of the movie. Please let me know if you or any of you are interested, and thank you so much for all of your help!

I'm personally pretty excited about the project, and I can also send over our pitch to pass around amongst players.

Thanks again and feel free to contact me with any questions,
