Coursera (purveyor of free online university-level courses) is offering a course called "Getting started in cryo-EM" that might be of interest to Foldit science fans. Recommended prerequisites: college freshman level math, physics and biochemistry. Minimum recommended time investment: 22 hours (14.5 hours lecture videos + 7.5 hours answering questions). Work at your own pace (no fixed start or end date).
