Macbook Air install error

I use Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, and downloaded the program but whenever I try to open it, it crashes. It says there is a systematic error. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Unfortunately, Foldit for Mac only runs on macOS 10.12 and up.

We're looking into how we can extend compatibility to older systems, but for now the only solution is to upgrade your operating system.
