Baker lab has a new paper out (Chevalier et al, Sept 2017) about using high-throughput protein design and testing to make small proteins that attack the flu. A nice write-up of the work is here: https://phys.org/news/2017-09-mini-protein-rapid-method-class-drugs.html
The abstract is available at: https://www.nature.com/nature/journal/vaop/ncurrent/full/nature23912.html
The first paper on high-throughput protein design and test (Rocklin et al, July 2017) is available here: https://www.bakerlab.org/downloads/science.aan0693/full.pdf
The new methods will not work yet on foldit-size proteins, but as bkoep pointed out recently, "This technology is getting better all the time, so we may soon be able to apply this method to test thousands of Foldit-designed proteins!"
