Hi all! I thought it would be fun if we could exchange puzzles, and see what other people's models look like. This will help us all to see what a high scoring model looks like, as well as give you a place to post dead ends that you run in to, and people others can find a method of breaking through to higher scores and in the end, we all learn more about of to Fold It!<!–break–>

If you would like to send a model, save it to your local hard drive, then attach it in an EMail to:<!–break–>

Rosettafoldit@gmail.com <!–break–>

It will be helpful if your subject line shows the puzzle number and the score of the model you are attaching.

If you prefer not to reveal your EMail address, you can signon to the ID (see below), and EMail from and to rosettafoldit.

If you would like to see models that others have sent in, you can sign on to that EMail account at:

I placed my rank #2 model for puzzle 15 out there if you'd like to look, or rework it. And thanks to Hugothehermit for inspiring the idea of puzzle sharing by sending me his rank #4 model that got me started.<!–break–>

Perhaps the puzzle builders could EMail copies of best models there once puzzles close?? And if there is a native structure, perhaps they could send that once closed as well."<!–break–>"

It would be interesting to see how much higher the scores get if there were certain puzzles tagged as being full collaboration mode. Where anyone could get a copy of the current best model (even if not "saved" yet), and begin working with it. And then refresh if others have improved it further.

Something like this would be very cool if we could all work together to provide the best models for CASP this year. And, as suggested by zzaltz, each player that advances the score would then be listed as collaborating on the effort.

I've posted a copy of the files with the top scores for puzzles 15 and 16 to this puzzle sharing GMail account. If you would like to have a look, you can open them in the game and see how it looks, compare it to your model, poke and prond at it. …probably improve on them! But I thought people might enjoy having a look.

This is a great idea. We developers have actually discussed it at length, but we felt it was much more difficult to "get right" as far as incentives (besides being more complicated to implement).

Would it be possible to share not just the model, but also the change action log (i.e. whatever is used by the redo feature) and within that track the user who contributed each advancement?
Could there be a scoring/ranking based upon the increase in points contributed, with increasing weight given to the "upper" points where increases are difficult?

Part of the reason that I'm suggesting this is that I would be interested in knowing not just what someone else's "better" model looks like, but also what they did to get there. I also had assumed that this was a large component of what the project is about in terms of viewing how the most successful players attack a puzzle versus the approach of the best computer algorithms?
