"But that game is ancient. It can't still be trademarked, right? I'm not into these legal things, but if the word "Tetris" could indeed cause legal issues, feel free to delete my submission."

I really like your design, it's one of my favorites so far.

Unfortunately, the word "Tetris" can cause legal issues. You could make a game that looks the exact same as Tetris, and you wouldn't get sued as long as you don't call it "Tetris" or anything similar. It's the name that's the problem.

"Does the winner get a free T-shirt? Smile"

That would be cool! :) I hope so. Hopefully the Foldit team can scrounge enough money from the budget to cover that. ;)

Also good questions from Pletsch. I don't know if we've actually decided on the answers to those questions.

When is the competition over? I mean "no more images". Because I want to vote when I have seen everything there is to be voted on, and I hope everyone else does so. Else, the first ones could get more votes then the last, even if the last is the best.

Or just open a new vote thread at the end of the time. Lets say "your 3 favorites" which get 3,2,1 point.

I'm trying to come up with some things, but think there might need to be a little more thought put into this. As far as size, format, products that will be offered, what I put on a coffee cup or calendar would be different from a polo shirt, jacket, or t-shirt

That's a good point. I thought we could just start with selecting some basic designs that we like in general, designed around T-shirts. Once we have t-shirts, we can look into other forms of merchandise, and where necessary tailor the designs to that merchandise, or if the requirements are very different, have new competitions. We haven't even got our feet wet with regards to t-shirts. :)

I have voted on more than one design, so I agree with LennStar that the votes in the t-shirt topic should certainly not be considered as a final vote.
