A Quick Update

We've just posted an update, with several requested features.

Events in the intro puzzles: The Intro Puzzles now are able to respond with hints based on your score, or how far you are from the correct solution, or what actions you take. We've also continued to revise the design of the puzzles based on playtesting.

Turn off background music: Background music is now a separate option from sound effects. You can find the option to turn it on or off in Menu > General Options.

Sound effects for rubber bands: Rubber Bands now make a snapping sound when you attach them to the protein. This should make it a little more clear whether you've attached them successfully or if they are still hanging in space.

New fast voids, with sound effects: Voids are red bubbles that show you the empty spaces in the protein that you can fill. We've made some adjustments to the way they are detected, and they are now many times faster than before. And they make nice popping sounds when you fill them.

I'm glad we have been able to begin addressing some of these longstanding concerns. And I am eager to see if voids do become a useful tool now that some of the barriers to using them have been removed.

I will see if there is a way to modify a mouse click or drag based on a key press. If so, it should be straightforward to implement a non-attaching rubber band, or the display of residue info in pull mode.
