Hey everyone!
We're releasing a developer preview that allows you to play a new type of puzzle: Exploration Puzzles!
These puzzles award you for finding new and interesting structures for proteins while still maintaining a good fold.
Also, players participating in the developer preview may now participate in normal puzzles from the main game. No more switching back and forth!

Q: Where can I find the Foldit data files?
A: The data files are in different places depending on your OS:
* on Windows XP at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Foldit\
* on Windows 7 and Vista at C:\ProgramData\Foldit\
* on a Mac, Ctrl-click on the app and choose "Show Package Contents, then go to Contents/Resources
* on Linux, is is the Foldit directory
Q: How do I try out the Foldit Developer Preview?
A: Locate your Foldit data directory (see previous question). Open the file options.txt and change the update_group variable from "main" to "beta".

Someone needs to clean up the Download buttons that say "win beta", "mac beta" and "linux beta". This lead to much confusion when you start talking about development version.
is still in beta phase, that`s why is "beta" sign everywhere :)
Development is like an alpha.
Right, the "testing" version is referred to as the Developer Preview. Foldit itself is in beta.
