Hey everyone,

We're releasing the changes from the Developer Preview into the main client.

In addition to these changes, we're also including an update that displays the terms of service when you log in to the game either on the website or client. The terms of service are based on the privacy policy (http://fold.it/portal/privacypolicy), and have more structure and are more clear. They also now include the ownership clause, which we have previously discussed (http://fold.it/portal/node/992792), as we feel it is important for people to see that information as well.

You can find a full list of client changes below:

General

  • An iteration counter should now be displayed next to the stop button for some tools
  • The set band length dialog now has an option to set the desired length to the current length
  • The user is now prompted with the terms of service when they log in
  • The threshold slider for electron density puzzles now allows you to see slightly more density

Scripting

  • Added structure.CanMutate, which will tell you if some segment can mutate into a particular amino acid

Tutorials

  • Some of the tutorials have been tweaked slightly

Bug Fixes

  • Mutate and shake should now stop quicker

So in other words since I am not running Main, I should not be getting an update? Because for the last two hours I have been getting updates to Devprev which is not being mentioned in your release statement. Any reason why?

There is a minor code change required to turn the legal dialog on in the game, and that small change went out to devprev as well.

Once we accept the terms, we can no longer see them. Can you please make the actual text we agreed to accessible from the main page?

"By clicking Agree below, you agree that you are 7 years of age or older"

What is the rationale for 7 years old? Are you saying that no child under that age can play? If so, that would be a real shame since we've had a 6 year old who has an intuitive understanding of this that exceeds many adults capabilities…
