Hey everyone! @Sciren will be hosting office hour this Wednesday, November 15th at 1PM CST (https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html). He will be accompanied by two scientists, Fabian Liessmann (FaLi13) and Lorenz Beckmann, working on the CCFHV puzzle series. See y'all there!
What are Fabian's and Lorenz's affilliation and specialty ? I cannot find them in the bakerlab.org website.
Where can we send questions if we cannot make it to the 'office hour' meeting ?
- Make an API in LUA for the handling as suggested in feedback/bugs
- Fix bugs associated with the tools, in particular rotation and display issues
- Let Fabian and Lorenz suggest approaches on how they would go about the issue of finding suitable matches for CCFHV (do a blogpost)
- Work on these puzzles yourself using foldit and make a list of improvements you need in order to use your time more efficiently solving this problem.
Thanks !
If I'm not mistaken, the Small Molecule puzzles in Foldit ("Drugit") are not initiated by Baker Lab, but by Meiler Lab at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. According to https://meilerlab.org/meiler-lab-members/, the investigator who gives his name to the lab is also associated with Leipzig University (Germany).
A bit further down on the same webpage, it shows that Fabian is a graduate student in Leipzig. He has also played a few Small Molecule puzzles as @FaLi13.
I have not found Lorenz Beckmann, but I guess he might either be based in Leipzig, or in @rmoretti's group in Nashville.
Lorenz Beckmann is also a graduate student in the Institute for Drug Discovery at Leipzig University, co-advised by Clara Schoeder and Maik Tretbar.
If you have questions about things after the office hours, it's probably best to send a message to @Sciren or post on the Fold.it forums rather than emailing Fabian or Lorenz directly. – If there's Foldit/puzzle specific things, we can handle that directly, and can forward any questions which need additional information from Fabian or Lorenz.
