We had posted it earlier when the Reconstruction puzzle paper was posted to biorxiv, but it has now been published! https://journals.iucr.org/d/issues/2025/11/00/lie5003/index.html
For all those who have participated in the Reconstruction puzzle series so far, give yourselves a pat on the back for helping to improve our collective knowledge of protein structure!
Why was not everyone credited who participated in those series ?
a list of 16 Foldit players figures in the supplementary material 3:

12 players explained their strategies in sup 1
It would have been an easy act of generosity to include each Foldit contributor in the addendum, even those who only showed up once and left. It has been handled differently in past publications. Unfortunately, the way this was handled, some "players" are feeling slighted. Why be stingy with credit? Anyway, it's an addendum… no is claiming that the people in the addendum are authors.
Thank you for your feedback, I take full responsibility for this.
This paper was based on the early Foldit Reconstruction puzzles (the same ones from that draft that we posted online: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.06.19.599674v2.full) so these are the players who improved a PDB model in at least one of those ED puzzles mentioned in the paper… those whose work resulted in a corresponding structure on PDB-REDO.
In the future, we will make sure to look at any player who contributed to a particular puzzle series. I do apologize for this, as it was never my intention to leave anyone feeling slighted.
Thank you for your sincere apology. As one who has worked on the Reconstruction Puzzles, I appreciate the transparency and the refreshing willingness of a staff member to acknowledge an oversight. It definitely helps to maintain the integrity of the collaboration. I look forward to more opportunities to contribute to this interesting field.
Wonderful News !! Awesome work everyone
