Our scientists will be in global chat TODAY for a very special Sepsis Scientist Chat. Join us at 2:00pm PDT (21h00 GMT) for all kinds of sciencey goodness!
Edit: The transcript from yesterday's Sepsis Scientist Chat is now up for those who missed it.
Hi, I missed today's chat. I have a few comments.
For the recent sepsis, and all the previous sepsis puzzles, the loop you've to us is covering a hydrophobic core. It's hard to cover this core and still reach up to bond the sugar, and even harder to make a rigid structure, like a helix and still increase contact with the sugar. In the latest, puzzle, you've reduced our insertions from 10 to 6. But, I'll try to do more with less. :)
For the recipe survey, a key point of foldit, which I still have yet to master, is pre-mature stiffening of the protein. To quote Auntdeen, "Brow, no fusing!" So, you may find configurations that are immensely improved by Rav3n GAB, but, is the protein now stuck, far from the maximum?
Last point: the images posted in the chat are now missing, round1_solution1 and round2_solution23.
