The rotational tool in ligand design is fairly useless in its current implementation. The rotation takes a second to get started, but then races around the clock when the arrow is clicked in either clockwise or counterclockwise direction.
It would have been a better design if this was set up to move in this fashion:
- click on an arrow tool for totation but do not yet move the mouse. The arrow changes color, but no motion takes place as long as you do not move the mouse. (left mouse button remains clicked on)
- move the mouse upward, the rotation is clockwise at the rate of the mouse movement, small movement is small rotation, big movement is big rotation. Make this rotation absolute, so moving the mouse up a little only rotates a little. It does not continue to rotate while the mouse button is pressed.
Same for counterclockwise, click on the arrow and move the mouse down and the thing rotates in the opposite (counterclockwise) direction.
The current implementation is useless.
