In the ROSETTA application for BOINC, you have the possibility to change the graphic frames per second, and by reducing them, you allow the system to spend more time on calculating than on displaying the puzzle.
How about such a feature in Foldit?

What graphic display in BOINC???? Rosetta just runs in the background.
You can't seriously be talking about the running the screensaver ….
Yes, I meant the "screensaver", if you call it like this, but that's not the point.
It is about saving calculating time.
Well yeah! Don't run the screensaver and Rosetta runs a LOT faster.
I don't know any serious BOINC'rs that would run the graphics output and give up all those CPU cycles.
Cycles = credits, and it's all about the credits!
Yes, that was what I meant, the screensaver was just an example.
Rosetta runs automatically, there is no need to see what it is doing.
But in Foldit, even if running a script, it is good to check from time to time, what the puzzle does look like and if it makes sense to keep the script running (as some scripts run very long), choose another one or make other changes.
Lowering fps would also help users who do remote folding keeping the bandwidth low.

run minimised in Windows - and also screens now fly out for preview
