Would it be possible to have the SAVE function, perhaps with a double click just SAVE without the need for writing a given name. Maybe as default it could save with the current score as the name. I often save the current solution with the current score as its name. This would be a great time saver. But also it might be able to save using a more precise score's values out to ten places.

I can dream can't I? How about having several default options:
a) Save using current score.
b) Save using current score and track number.
c) Save using current score, track number and current recipe.
d) Save using current score, track number, current recipe and date/time.
We can dream. A default name would be nice. On some puzzles though multiple designs are tried such as:
design A = 3-sheets, 2 helixes
design B = 4-sheets, 2-helixes
The default could also take that into account otherwise all the design saves would be intermixed. Maybe I'm missing something but not sure why 10 decimal places are needed. I've never saved anything with less than 1 point difference.
I've come to use Tracks more than the Save function lately. For example if I start with design A the tracks will looks something like this:
A-1
A-2
A-3_gab
…
A-9_idealize
A-a_mwp
A-b
…
The tracks will all be in chronological order. For 3-sheets, 2-helixes I may use 32-1. If you want to get more complex you can create a new design derived from a previous design such as 2-19-1 (design 2 based on design 1, track 9). Kind of like a poor man's version of a tree diagram.
I think a one/double click auto save either based on current score or track name is a brilliant idea. Like Tom I rarely use save now unless I'm sharing with group and rely instead on tracks.
