ED box disappears when changing tracks and some comments on new tool

I would like to have it still there after a track change.

I like the new tool. I want to have 2 buttons added, 1 to recompute after position changes, and 1 to reverse back to the cell view. Now when you go for a second time in the tool, it reverts to the cell view. That should be clear from the button text if no extra buttons are added.
