I realise this request has been raised by many (including me) but I know I am not alone in wishing that we had the opportunity to remove cloud rendering in many areas on some ED puzzles. I realise we already have many tools for adjusting the rendering of the cloud - but these have to be set continuously - none of them effectively remove render from areas that we may believe to be superfluous to the area we want to work with.
I have no idea if the following is relatively easy to achieve, but it would, at least, use much that already exists in some form (or so I think)….
We now have ED cloud note blobs….can we not set one colour of blob to a cloud trimmer? Working as an inverse function to that already used for 'trim density'?
Say we had a blob colour 'grey' - all cloud within a certain distance of a grey blob is then un-rendered. But the blob remains (so we know we have done it) Perhaps we could set the un-rendering distance - tho this may prove unnecessary - we could just put in more blobs. Changing the colour or removing the note blob would then re-render the cloud affected.
I've never used the default blob colour - perhaps that could just be replaced with this new 'erasure' blob.
To be clear - I am only talking about removing the rendering here. This is purely to help with visual interpretation of the cloud. I also appreciate that ED note blobs are placed 'on the surface' of the cloud. But wouldn't this be better than nothing?
