Have running my F@H GPU client all the time and get a problem with foldit. When GPU is already running and I try to start foldit - my system crashes.
Other games(fullscreen or not) don't make same effect.
My system: Q6600, P5B, 2Gb, 9800+.
Usually i have 2 smp F@H clients running in background. So.. somewhere is problem in compatybility between foldit and F@H GPU.
I have brought it up in a previous post, however thought I should bring it up here as well. I have seen issues with FoldIt conflicting with CUDA based software as well. (GPU based software similar to F@H but general software for NVidia cards)
LevRUS, have you tried suspending F@H calculations prior to launching FoldIt? Does it have the same affect. I know for the CUDA platform programs I've run, suspending them before launching FoldIt has alleviated any conflicts.
But I had SETI run. No Problems at all, except the speed (in my Laptop is only a GF9300, that is too small for CUDA+Games, especially the VLAR tasks)
Speaking of VLAR: These tasks are more demanding and caused CUDA crashes for a time.
Does it happen for all F@h task? (I don't even know if they have different types of tasks, I'm rosetta ;))
it's some kind of problem with films too. But not same at all. Films is not starting, or it takes to much time(more than 10 min), but there is no crashes, when foldIT do my machine restart with blue screen.
Looks like it is some old driver problem. Not reported since then. Closing.
