Find another method for distributing recipes? No IRC behind firewall

Hi All,

I have no IRC connectivity behind most of the firewalls I have to operate behind. I have no access to the firewalls to allow port access. I am essentially stuck. I can connect to the foldit server and get news and such with no problems using our internal proxy.

The issue is that I can not download recipes and such from the fold.it site. My suggestion is that maybe they could be distributed using several methods so that they are more accessible? Possibly a direct download as well as a distributed (bittorrent?) method? This would allow software updates to be issued in a distributed manner as well.

Until there is another method, I will not be able to install or use recipes unfortunately!

Yes, in the real world, many networks are behind firewalls that block IRC.

willanth: your internal chat is not working at all?
It is strange, because I run foldit client in my work some time ago and we also behind firewall(s) and not have any problem.
Just be sure that you have one client running (internal chat working) and you are logged in in game and on site.

In the US, many organizations block all the common IRC ports at the firewall. IRC is considered an unacceptable security risk.
