What about the introduction of 'hydraulic sticks' as the opposite of bands
with a force pushing outwards and the two connection points apart rather than
pulling the two connection points closer to each other?
In combination with bands this might help sometimes to shape the segments of two adjacent
sheets or loop sections.
In principal the same effect could be achieved with bands applied in the opposite direction
and with one connection point of each band fixed in space, but most of the time I end up with the
molecule rotating under the applied forces and the bands pulling into totally wrong directions
relative to the molecule. Fixing the molecule itself with additional bands is imho time consuming
and might affect the molecule structure in regions away from the region of interest because of
unwanted torque and shear forces.
