Description

This is the first of many puzzles for this unsolved protein. We are giving you an extended chain; sadly this protein has no homologs or templates we can use. This round only GUI scripts are allowed and sharing has been disabled. After this puzzle expires, it will be re-posted and LUA scripts and sharing will be allowed. You'll also be able to load in your solutions from this puzzle. The secondary structure predictions are provided on the starting model, with more details posted in the puzzle comments.

beta_helix Staff Lv 1

Here are the secondary structure predictions predicted by the SAM server:

H = helix
E = sheet
C = loop (or coil)

The taller the letter at each position, the higher the probability of that specific secondary structure for that amino acid.

For example, the Leucines at residues 39 and 100 are highly predicted to be part of a helix. However, the Leucines at residues 39 and 82 are predicted to be part of a sheet!

beta_helix Staff Lv 1

but sadly your guess is as good as ours on this one.

The one thing that we can be sure of is that your solutions for Round 2 will score higher than this hand-folding round!
