Build number 2012-02-14-47448 and earlier are not fixed
BN 2012-02-16-47506 and later have this fix included.
Right, this fix has been confirmed in the developer preview but it is not yet released to the main version.
This fix has gone out in the most recent update.
Sorry to reopen this old folder but it seems to correspond to the errors found.
Since the last update of Foldit. Even after reinstalling the application repeatedly, it, after about 4 minutes of use is closed by Windows 10.
I have the following message in the events of administration:

Looks like some trouble in puzzle, what puzzle do you work on when attached log was made?
Can you replicate error on another puzzle or it is crashing on every puzzle?
It crash when you wiggle? shake? manual? script?
edit: also I not see how it is IRC related?
Log.txt is after a crash on the 1231.
Crash on 1227 and 1231, so unrelated to a puzzle.
Crash happens even without introducing any command after 4 to 5 minutes. Until then all controls operate smoothly.
Edit: copy the log.txt made after crash. If a crash happens, is it not normal that the IRC is not related?
New test : Crash after about 4 minutes on screen "Please enter your login and password"
Now: no crash from about 40 minutes. (From time to time, no crash. Then, many crash.)
N.B. Other applications: no crash
Maybe it is related to this at the top of your log.txt file:
…
Initializing translator using: cmp-resources-f3f5689675a05a73fb3d5d1f6e8950e6\resources\locale/foldit.fr.po
formats mismatch in translation string:
Your current puzzle has gone offline.
Votre puzzle actuel est passé en phase %s.
formats mismatch in translation string:
Are you sure you want to delete\n"%s"?
Êtes-vous sûr de vouloir reinitialiser le puzzle ?\n
starting the init thread!..
…
Those "formats mismatch" I mean. Using the French version it seems.
Suggestion: Could you try staying with the English version (vanilla client) from a newly downloaded client in a new folder and see what it does.
Thanks
Thanks for your suggestion but I already uninstalled completely Foldit, reinstalled and left in the English version without result. However, I have not installed in a new directory as you suggest.
Attention that this crash problem is already presented on the screen "Please enter your login and password" but I did this test without reinstalling Foldit.
With the new elements, do you think that the test you propose is still useful?
N.B.
1) Since yesterday, no crash on 1231 and, this, in the French version. (?)
2) Never no problem since 2008.
Good news. If I understand correctly it seems your crash problem has gone.
Strange, who knows what caused it to appear in the first place.
BUT having re-installed (after a complete uninstall) with not crash since yesterday would normally indicate that there was a corruption problem in the older install that is now corrected (even with the French version).
Just re-post your log.txt file if it happens again.
