Foldit.app doesn't open.

I no longer have access to Foldit.app as it refuses to open after the last update.
I am using an iMac with intel dual core processor 2.4 GHz with 4GB Ram and OS X 10.5.8
When I try to open the programme nothing happens and no error message appears.
I tried reinstalling the Foldit-osx_x86.zip file and on completion it loads the update and just does absolutely nothing after the download window closes. So I am still unable to open it.
Can someone please help me as latest update has stopped my protein folding which I was really enjoying.

Here's the log.text which says "Can't open options file options.txt." I don't know what this means.

I have heard of 2 others with this problem - it looks as if the update made the program incompatible with OS 10.4 & 10.5

I would have made the identical entry but with OS 10.4.11. This occurred on 11/21/12. It's the last system upgrade available to that machine which otherwise is not a bad machine (too old) nor deserves being thrown out albeit has now had five birthdays.

This is the computer at my Dad's house that has kept me sane these many years, allowing me to fold while visiting with Dad. Without it, I don't know what I will do or what will happen. I could wind up in rehab or therapy which would cost thousands and still not get at the root cause. Please, please. If there is anything you can do to forestall the day when Fold.it will no longer run there, please help me now.

I'm releasing an update soon which should fix this for devprev. We'll try to get it pushed out to main as soon as possible.

yes same story here… I just got started, the 2nd time i loged in on my 10.5.8 ox mac the system updated the app and then, nothing… has this bee resolved?

The problem has been resolved in the devprev update group only. We will have to address the other issues with the developer preview before we can push this out to main. Because of the occasional problem like this

Perhaps its time to find a way to allow users to rollback their client?

If I were on my other computer, I would probably have it also, it's an older machine running 10.5.
