We learned some sad news late last week that beloved long-time player auntdeen passed away. Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time. We are all grateful for the hard work she put in through the years as one of our ops, the creator of the Foldit Store and the Black Belt Folding videos.
With all the effort that Auntdeen put forth into Foldit, it would be a shame to see her rank slowly dwindle down to last. Would it be possible to freeze her last known scores/rankings on her profile page?
We're investigating a way to make sure it stays put on the profile page, but of course the leaderboards will shuffle around. Great suggestion, thank you!
It is so sad. Auntdeen:- you have never left our thoughts and I was hoping you would get well and rejoin us. I am sad for our loss and the loss to your family. I am happy though, that you no longer have to deal with the struggles of life.
You made a difference. A big one.
Well done.
Porky
I've updated auntdeen's profile page with frozen values of her last scores/ranks:

Thank you Jflat, I think it's a fitting gesture. :)
I have a theory that there is a strong correlation between pancreatic cancer and intelligence. I have this theory because the only people I have ever heard of having it are all very, very smart. It hits such a small proportion of the population, but it is disproportionate on hitting the intelligent, in my highly unscientific polling.
Anyway, AuntDeen will be missed. Let's cure pancreatic cancer, so no one else needs to suffer that way.
AuntDeen was one of the first to welcome me in FoldIt. We shared many stories of martial arts and protein folding. Almost made it to a meet up once, but alas I could not fit it in the schedule. You were the matriarch of AD, and possibly FoldIt. Rational, compassionate, humble, and humourous, you made me logon every day to see your chat in the little box in the corner.
Miss you.
If your theory is correct,I'll never have to worry about going that way! Sorry to hear about AuntDeen.
