We've just released a new update for the Developer Preview.

This update includes:

  • New Intro Puzzles. There are now puzzles covering Quest to the Native, Electron Density, and Exploration Puzzles.

  • Exploration Puzzles. We're changing things up with the Exploration Puzzles. In upcoming puzzles, we will take the top player solutions from round 1, and let you start from them. However, the Contact Map will show you the solution which you are closest to, and your multiplier will be calculated from that solution. So you'll have to explore away from round 1's best solutions while still keeping your distance from the original starting structure.

  • Various Bug Fixes

I managed to finish the Electron Density intro quite easily, but that's partly thanks to good instincts (noticing the possibility of a beta sheet and creating hydrogen bonds in full-atom mode). I would definitely agree that this puzzle would be difficult for new players unless secondary structures and hydrogen bonds are displayed…

when this new intro puzzles will be tested, can you add them to the translation file ?
Thanks

This new puzzles are more difficult than the others.
I have difficulties to succeed in QTTN in a consistent manner.
QTTN wiggle is sometimes very slow.
In exploration, rebuild of the helix, rebuild also the 2 sheets.

This puzzle is too difficult to be in the first puzzles.
Players dont read the text, carefully, rotate, the helix, do not reset and dont think to wiggle.

Chat is not very active these days so people may not ask for help and stop to play because of this puzzle.

The move tool (purple star) is only very useful for ligand puzle so I think it will be better with intro puzzles on ligand. Even for flu design puzzle, bands and wiggle is more easy.

Maybe add a hint to the Exploration puzzle "Try aligning all 4 sheets next to each other" to indicate that the helix does not need to be touched.
