Seth Cooper, jflat06 and I will be in global chat tomorrow starting at 12:45 PDT (19:45 GMT) to discuss potential solutions to the design problem that has been brought up in the feedback: fold.it/portal/node/990190

For the first 15 minutes we will discuss the problems caused by switching between releases.

The last developer chat was very productive resulting in the implementation of Tracks.
We look forward to your suggestions to improve Foldit. Just as before, we will post a transcript of the chat.

Well, excuse me for asking.

"Chat logs" are NOT on the menu system anywhere that I could find.

Thanks for your time today and I'm pleased that the 'copy design scripts' only affects the players and is not a problem at your end.
I was curious about these comments:
beta_helix: do you have an algorithm for quickly filtering out solutions that are very similar (say, having an RMSD below a certain cutoff)?
'yes, infjamc… and for design puzzles we also filter by unique sequence. Therefore copied solutions get thrown out.'

I think it means that if the position and the aas of two solutions are very close one (or several) get(s) thrown out; it isn't relevant to you whose it is, and the removal at that stage doesn't affect the players' score in either the solo or evolver competition.

As the scripters love a challenge and are keen to experiment with V2 they may keep writing (banding and sidechain replace) copy scripts and players may keep running them, even just to see the effects they have, but I imagine that there will be sufficient variations across all of the players for you to still get plenty of good results, and maybe some good scripts as well.
