We've just posted an update which will let us run Electron Density puzzles again. Also included are some minor bug fixes.

Why do we have to beg for these minor bug fixes to be defined for us. Why can't the poster simply let us know the meaning of each and every bug fix. As of yet, there has been no response in feeback about yesterday's problem of beta/developer updates, yet pauldunn is telling me that it must be fixed because his most recent update worked. Why are we having to get our information second-hand, instead of from the horse's mouth??

We try to highlight major bug fixes when they go to main (such as the Electron Density fix, which was explained in the Update News thread). The minor bug fixes generally don't get noted because they're small and usually are ones where it's fine to let players find out on their own.

As for the developer preview bug - The main update group is where we try to ensure that players only experience the working game. Developer preview is intended to be there to assist us in finding bugs. It's where we can test without having to worry about making sure the game works 100% and that players are perfectly informed as the to the state of the current version. This lets us diagnose and fix problems faster. If the developer preview isn't working or you are unsatisfied with the current version, it's always OK to switch back to main. We really appreciate all those of you who help test in developer preview, and we try and get fixes out as soon as possible.

I cannot get this update to download - it freezes every time. Could the update be added to the client that can be downloaded from the webpage please so that there is an alternative way of getting this to work ?(Win XP)

The problem with the download freezing does not appear to be related to the computer or software. Somewhere in the data transfer between the foldit server and the PC, the transmission is being terminated. After much head scratching, I used a different Internet Service Provider and the update completed on the first attempt.

If your update is freezing try the same and it might just help and save you hours of frustration !

Jflat, please pass on the url for the Update News thread as it's not easy to find for me. And Forum isn't responding well today. Downloaded an update today with no information posted about it. Don't like that.
