Hold on to your hats, it's time for a scientist chat with the Baker Lab's own bkoep! We'll be talking puzzles, puzzles, (and more) puzzles so join us next Wednesday, October 2nd at 17h30 GMT / 10:30am Pacific. A transcript will be available on the site after the event for those who can't attend.
If you need help getting into global chat with your external IRC client, check out this helpful guide for assistance.
Thanks and we hope to see you there! As always, you're welcome to leave any questions and suggestions in the comments.
The scientist chat transcript is now up here: http://fold.it/portal/node/996045
I added a comment to the bottom of the page with an explanation of rebuild. Thanks!
Hi,i'm arthan.
Can we have more freedom to control the CI? like adjusting it over 1.0,or attribute different CI for different part of the proteins.
i think advanced players should be given more options to manipulate the molecular.Because that feels cool and could possibly shorten the distance between them and "real" scientists.
Is your request similar to this feedback?

Whether it’s calcium binding motif, helix-turn-helix motif, Hairpin motif or any of the hundreds of motifs that exist, being able to understand these super-secondary structures is just as important as being able to understand what a helix or beta strand looks like. Question: Is it possible to create another category in the menu that is called Motifs where only the portion of a protein that contains the motif is shown. This way we can play around with the Motif and see if some motifs do exhibit local minimums other than the motif’s usual structure. Thanks
I understand that some motifs are embedded in the inner core of the protein and that isolating them from the entire protein can be counterproductive but nevertheless, looking at these super-secondary structures and trying to make some sense from them can advance our understanding of the structure as a whole.
I just started playing this game a few weeks ago and really enjoy it.
The chat is starting in approximately 15 minutes! See you all then.
Is there a log posted somewhere?
