Hi….
When setting bands, especially during rebuilds and other similar operations, it is often a requirement that bands be placed from each affected side chain's snap vertex to some point in white space.
Unfortunately, as much as snap is required to apply the band to each of the above noted nodes, placing the bands' terminus in white space is highly difficult, due to this same feature.
It would be infinitely easier to accomplish if one could press the ctrl button or similar after initiating the band to temporarily override or disable autosnap during placement of the rubber band terminus.
If this has already been implemented and is another undocumented command, I would LOVE to know what that command is.
:)
thanks
- Assuming Mass > 0
- If Momentum = 0
- Then dx/dt = 0
Any suggestions on which key this function should be attached to? I'm thinking players could be introduced to it in the explanatory text for level 5-4…
I've got a lot of other Foldit stuff to get done this week and the next, but I'll keep this feature in mind for afterward. I don't think it should take much work to implement.
Well, either the CTRL or alt keys would be typical, in terms of how it's done in other programs…for consistency I'd say either would do but ctrl probably would be the more obvious choice.
Forr the Mac….the ?command? key or whatever it's called
thanks for the response!
Maybe Alt for Windows and Cmd for Mac, since those are in basically the same spot on the keyboard. I think Ctrl-click is already used as an equivalent for right-click.
Anyway, I'll work out the specifics in a couple weeks.
Sounds great axcho…looking forward to the improvement!
thanks again for listening
Bump. Snapping to objects when banding qnnt is really annoying.
Bump. Disable auto snap by key/option.
