Assign several actions to different colours of the undo graph.
For example:
manual pull = red
wiggle = light green
shake = dark green
rebuild = yellow
tweak = blue
mutate = orange
neutral action (freeze/unfreeze, bands, etc.) = white

I really like this idea! We have relatively few basic tools, so it would work well. Plus, I always like visual cues.

Your suggestion referred to points, not segments – mind you, I think yours is a good idea too.
