Working on a Kinect version rather than a smart phone version seems like a REALLY bad misappropriation of resources to me. The percentage of people who own an XBox 360 and a Kinect has to be way, WAY lower than those with EITHER an iPhone or an Android phone. Not to mention both would be fairly easy to port to other devices using that os, such as mp3 players, tablets, etc. Whereas the Kinect doesn't really branch out to much of anything else. I could understand making an XBLA version that could be played with a standard XBox controller, since it would run on every Xbox with no additional peripherals needed. Even the Xbox that doesn't have a hard drive could still store XBLA games on a flash drive. The requirement of the Kinect seems like a stupid road block to narrow the amount of people who could have access to it. And if it was designed for XBLA download and a regular controller scheme, it could be easily adapted for PSN.

You should be actively trying to find the best way to make this available to the most amount of people, not making these esoteric concepts that have so many roadblocks.

Thank you for your input, but the main roadblock with iPhones/iPad/iPod Touches is compiling Rosetta on those platforms.

If anyone is able to get Rosetta compiled on any of those, then we can start thinking of getting Foldit working there as well.

Rosetta is free for non-commercial use here: http://www.rosettacommons.org/software/

I like it. Nice interface, and from what I know, I don't think it is hard to program ios, especially scince you already have an outlined program. I'm not saying do it right away, but keep it for down the line. Its really amazing when you are going on a long trip and need to pack light, or don't want to keep a laptop with you.

You can get around the Rosetta problem in the same way iPhone (Siri) got away with having to process large volums of info… use the iPad/iPhone to pipe information to and from a server running Rosetta so it can handle the work/processing… That way the iPad can do what it does best and just control the user interaction and game-play.
I could be missing something here but the problem does not seam like that much of a challenge but it does not allow offline use.
