I'd like to eat a sandwich. WHOOPS I MESSED UP AND POSTED THAT. How will I ever edit my original post? Well this seems to be a forum like many others, let me just look for the … edit……button.
Aww, shuckie-darns. There is no edit button at all. Now everyone knows I'm hungry and I won't be able to edit my post to fix it what do I do get out of there cat!
There is a preview button.
It lets you double check your post and do any editing prior to sending it.
Yes, I know you will argue it isnt the same thing….:P
Ayelis - NOW you are spamming. We don't care about your sandwich, and since you are search-incapable, here is a previous feedback on this http://fold.it/portal/node/987868 .
Incorrect, sir! That clearly states your "Last/Latest" post, not the "Original" post.
Of course you don't care about my sandwich. I'd love to be able to EDIT the post, you see, but I can't. :)
That is the point. The crux, as it were.
I guess if your "original" post was your "last/latest" post, then it would apply.
You are a troll.
Takes one to know one, buddy. Trololol
While I don't like the tone of the post, this is a legitimate suggestion…
And it's a duplicate request. There are Feedback and Forum posts going back to the beginning asking for edit capability, and I believe there was a firm reply about it back a few years in the forum, even before the feedback was implemented.
February 2009 news item:
Editing of old content disabled
We are disabling the functionality for editing your own submissions in the forum and feedback tracker. Though this is a useful feature, recently a great deal of old feedback tracker entries have been edited to remove their content. When a features becomes so abused, its potential for harm outweighs its benefits.
Ah, that makes sense. Thank you for your reply.
Regarding how "Silly" my original post seemed… Please forgive me. Whenever I see any sort of forum wherein my posts can receive positive or negative "votes" (a-la American Idol, Star Search, The Weakest Link), the Drama-club student in me kicks in and everything becomes a performance.
Honestly, this sort of feature in a [bug-tracking system] is, to a serious Senior Applications Developer / Quality Assurance Manager / Software Tester like myself, a joke. What use is a down-vote to a stop-error? Then again, I've said it before (http://fold.it/portal/node/990548) and nobody cares. So expect more colorful bug reports from me, and please forgive me in advance. ;)
